The French government closed a mosque in Beauvais on “radical sermons” which would have “defended from jihad”. The mosque would remain closed for the next six months.
The French authorities have made controls on all Islamic places suspected of having links with extremism.
According to a report published in the BBC, the Imam of the mosque, located in the northern region of France, referred to jihadist fighters as “hero” and incentive of violence.
“The man, who was presented as an occasional speaker but who, in reality, acts as a regular Imam had defended a religious practice of Islam and its superiority to the laws of the Republic,” said the head of the Ministry of The interior as saying.
Earlier, the Minister of the Interior of France, Gerald Darmanin had launched the closing process of the Beauvais mosque asserting that Christian, homosexual and Jewish targeted radical sermons.
