With tensions that ran high above the buildup of Russian military near Ukraine, the monitor’s fire ceasefire along the line which divided the Ukrainian government forces and separatists supported by Russia reported a surge in violations.
The last diplomatic effort was carried out on Sundays to prevent what Western power was warned as an invasion of Russia which soon occurred in Ukraine and a disasterful European war.
Russia extends military training near the northern border of Ukraine after two sustainable shooting days along the contact line between Russian-supported Ukrainian soldiers and separatists in East Ukraine. The exercises in Belarus, which borders Ukraine to the north, was originally set to end on Sunday.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said it was a high time for the West to put sanctions against Russia. “Russia must be stopped now. We see how the event takes place,” said Kuleba, reported Reuters.
Kuleba Minstebe Foreign Ukraine on Sunday also called for an international investigation into the alleged shooting of the Russian region of Ukraine. “We never did it and did not hide anything,” Kuleba said, report Reuters.
The Kremlin has said the naming of a repeated Western dating for Russian invasion to provocative Ukraine and can have adverse consequences, Reuters reported quoting the Interfax of the news agency.
French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian leader Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone on Sunday to talk about the ongoing situation in Ukraine, said the Macron office, AFP reported. The call was described by the French as a last attempt to stop Russia from attacking Ukraine. The call starts at 11am (1000 GMT).
The Defense Ministry Belarus said that it would expand military training together with Russia even though they were scheduled to end on Sunday. Defense Ministry Belarus said the decision to extend military training was taking considering the situation that increased throughout the East Ukrainian region Donbass, reported Reuters.
