Ukraine President Zelensky Hails Support Poland against Russian invasion

Kyiv: The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Friday praised the support of Poland’s neighbor since Russia invaded last month.
“When you have someone who hurts you, it is very important to have someone who offers their shoulders so that you lean,” he said in a message to his partner Polish, Andrzej Duda and Poland.

On February 24, when Russia invaded, “I don’t doubt who this is, who will tell me you, your people will not find themselves against the enemy ‘”.

More than 2.5 million people have escaped from the war in Ukraine, the United Nations said – more than half across the western border to Poland.

“You welcome our people to your family, with the tenderness of Poland, with the kindness of the brotherhood,” he said.

“Polish brothers and sisters, I feel that we have formed a very strong trade union,” he added.

Poland this week said it was “ready” to hand over MIG-29 fighter jets to the United States, under the scheme that would see the plane given to Ukraine.

But Washington has refused the offer not “sunbathing”, saying it creates a “serious problem” for all NATO alliances.
