WASHINGTON: The United States on Thursday broke the alleged pakistani spy cells that tried to interfere into American intelligence and security forces including high-profile secret services responsible for the presidential security.
Arian Taherzadeh, 40, and Haider Ali, 35, were arrested by the FBI in Southeast Washington with criminal complaints that aired them with federal federal violations of false imitation of an US official.
Four Secret Service Members have been placed on administrative leave.
During the appearance of their court on Thursday, the Assistant of the US Attorney Joshua Rothstein told Judge Judge G Michael Harvey in the US District Court for the Columbia District that Haider Ali told witnesses that he was affiliated with the Inter-Service Intelligence Agency in Pakistan.
Ali also has many visas from Pakistan and Iran, said Federal law enforcement officials.
“We have not verified the accuracy of his claim but Ali made claims to the witnesses that he had a bond with the contents which was Pakistani intelligence services,” Rothstein told the judge.
Taherzadeh and Ali tried to use false affiliates and their fraud with the Homeland security department to insult themselves with members of federal law enforcement and defense community.
In particular, Taherzadeh gave members of the Secret Service of the United States (USSS) and a DHS employee with, among others, rented apartments (with a total annual lease of more than USD40,000 per apartment), iPhone, Surveillance Systems, a drone, flat screen television , Kasing to store assault rifles, generators, and law enforcement equipment.
Taherzadeh also offers these individuals the use of what he wants to become a “official government vehicle.” In addition, he offered to buy an assault rifle of USD 2,000 for secret service agents assigned to the details of the first woman’s protector.
As a result of this behavior, four secret official members were placed on administrative leave waiting for further investigation, said Federal Prosecutor.
According to court papers, Taherzadeh and Ali have established video supervision in various parts of the apartment complex where they live in Washington DC.
They are represented to residents in the apartment complex that they can access, anytime, cell phone residents of the apartment complex.
These residents stated that they believed that both had access to personal information from all occupants in the apartment complex, newspapers said.
The Federal Prosecutor accused that Taherzadeh gave a gift or assistance to the population, many of which were members of law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, USSS or DHS, or employees of government institutions, including the Department of Defense and Navy.
For example, he previously lent the “government vehicle” to the wife of one of them, and also gave him a generator. For other secret service agents associated with the White House, it provides free-free rental apartments of USD 48.200.
Both were ordered to be detained until the next hearing on Friday.
According to Washington Post, so far, the men are only charged with “false impersonation of a federal officer,” Although Rothstein said on Thursday that the government might add “conspiracy.”
