The ongoing war will soon be completed two months after Russia announced “special military operations” in Ukraine and invaded the country on February 24.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Sunday said the war between Kyiv and Moscow would not happen, his country was allowed to join NATO – 30 security alliances from North America and Europe. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelskyy discussed the possibility of additional sanctions in Russia in a call with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. On Friday Scholz said Germany could stop Russian oil imports this year but ending gas imports would be harder because the country needed to build infrastructure to import gas from alternative sources.
Scholz’s office said Chancellor had condemned Bucha’s murder and called them “war crimes”. He also said Chancellor said the German government would ensure the perpetrators were identified and taken to national and international courts.
Quoting officials in Kyiv, the AFP news agency reported that Ukraine was preparing for the “big battle” against Moscow forces to the east of the country when thousands of civilians continued to escape from Russian fear.
In the latest Russian attacks in Ukraine, the airport in the city of Dnipro is destroyed in fresh shooting by Moscow. “There is another attack at Dnipro Airport. There is nothing left of it. The airport itself and the surrounding infrastructure have been destroyed. Rockets continue to fly and fly,” said AFP quoting the head of the city military administration, Valentin Reznichenko, as told the telegram. Details about the victim have not been revealed.
More than 4.5 million people have escaped from a war-hit by a war since the Russian invasion begins, according to the UN refugee body. UNHCR said there were 4,503,954 Ukrainian refugees on Sunday. It was 62,291 more than the previous day.
