Netflix film ‘Maestro’: the making of the film begins in May 2022 & what we know so far

Bradley Cooper, in his first original Netflix, will star in the director’s chair for the upcoming Leonard Berstein biopic, Maestro. The film making it still has not been taken place, but it will begin in May 2022. Below we will track all the main production updates, casting news, trailers, and Netflix release date.

Maestro is a native of Netflix who will come based on the legendary composer career Leonard Berstein. Cooper wrote a scenario with Spotlight producer Josh Singer.

Legendary Director Martin Scorssese and Steven Spielberg are attached to the project as a producer, along with Director Joker Todd Phillips. Fred Berner (Pollock), Amy Durning (Magic City), Kristie Macosko Krieger (Bridge of Spies), and Emma Tillinger Koskoff (Joker) are also attached.

This project has long been in development with Word which is under development which was first released in January 2020. The film was first in Paramount before moving to Netflix.

Told for 30 years, Maestro followed the West Side Story career and on the seafood conductor and composer Leonard Berstein, and his marriage to the Chilean -born actress, Felicia Montealegre.

Taking the role of legendary director Leonard Berstein will be the Guardians of the Favorite Galaxy Fan Bradley Cooper. Maestro will be the second feature film directed by Bradley, and first since a star was born.

Carey Mulligan – Felicia Montealegre

Actress Great Gatsby Carey Mulligan will act with Leonard Berstein from Bradley Cooper as Felicia Montealegre, Chili -born actress, and Berstein’s wife.

Maestro will be the second original Netflix for Mulligan, having previously starred in a critical recognized mudbound. Mulligan is also famous for his role as Kathy in Never Let Me Go and Daisy Buchanan in Great Gatsby.

Jeremy Strong – John Gruen

Jeremy Strong will take the role of John Jonas Gruen, the famous American art critic, writer, and composer. One of the most famous Gruen books is the private world of Leonard Berstein.

Strong Baru -Newly giving fantastic performance as Jerry Rubin in the original historical drama Aaron Sorkin Netlfix The Trial of the Chicago 7, and also has a major role in the fantastic Sucpesion HBO drama series as Kendall Roy.

What is the status of maestro production?

Official Production Status: Scheduled Film Making (Last Updated: January 2022)

We previously reported that filmmaking is scheduled to begin in April 2021, but for some unknown reasons, the making of the film is delayed. Once again, the update to IMDB for maestro shows the status has changed from the pre-production to shoot on October 12, 2021. It was exchanged again to April and now we can confirm a new production sheet stating that Maestro will shoot in May 2022.

The first batch of shooting will occur towards the end of May in Tanglewood, Massachusetts. Further shooting will take place in September 2022 when production moves to Italy.

There is no word about when the date of production is scheduled to shoot in London, England, and New York City, USA.

Some companies are credited by working in Maestro, including; Joint efforts, Sikelia Productions, Fred Berner Films, and Amblin Entertainment.

When is the Netflix release date?

With the shooting not because now it starts until summer, it is very unlikely we will see the launch of the maestro on Netflix in 2022. Given the subject matter, it can easily become one of the Netflix films chose to release the award season which means the end of 2023. From 2023.
