The Finnish Prime Minister received negative results in the drug test he did to “clear suspicion” after the 36 -year -old party video triggered criticism, his office said Monday.
Sanna Marin urine samples were tested for the existence of various drugs, such as cocaine, amphetamine, marijuana and opioid, Iida Vallin, special advisors for the Prime Minister, told AFP.
“The drug test taken from Prime Minister Sanna Marin on August 19, 2022 did not reveal the existence of drugs,” MS Marin Office said in a statement, adding that the results were signed by a doctor.
“The test is a comprehensive drug test. We did not choose how the test was carried out,” said MS Vallin.
A video that leaked last week showed Ms. Marin dancing and partying with a group of friends and celebrities who created controversy throughout the world.
Some comments interpret that were heard in the video referring to narcotics, something that was very debated on social media and was highly rejected by the Prime Minister.
“To clear suspicion, I have conducted a drug test today,” he told reporters at his residence on Friday.
MS Marin previously said he “spent the night with friends” and that the videos were “filmed in a private place”.
He claimed to drink alcohol. In addition to denying using drugs, he said he did not witness the use of drugs by the participants.
“Never in my life, even in my youth, I have used any drugs,” he said.
MS Marin – appointed in 2019 at the age of 34 – previously became the target of criticism of the party -party at his official residence.
In December 2021, he received continuous criticism after it was revealed he remained dancing until early morning despite the exposure of Covid-19.
A poll assigned by the MTV3 Finland TV channel at that time found two thirds of respondents thinking the night was “serious mistakes”.
