Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday that he no longer felt that the main plan for 2015 was agreed upon with France, Germany and Kyiv would be able to resolve Ukrainian separatist conflicts.
“We understand that there are no prospects” for the implementation of the 2015 Minsk peace agreement, approving the capital of Belarus to end the battle between the Pro-Moscow Ukrainian and Rebel forces in the East of the country, Putin told the Security Council.
Putin warned that Western forces used Moscow’s feud with Ukraine to threaten Russian security and said he was considering acknowledging the independence of two regions supported by Russia.
Openly supporting the separatist regions of Donetsk and Lugansk in East Ukraine will effectively end the peace plan that has shaken and dramatically increases the possibility of an endless Russian invasion.
Moscow seems to have laid the foundation for such operations by claiming – to rejection Kyiv who was angry – that his troops had been intercepted and killed five Ukrainian sabots who infiltrated the Russian region, and accused Ukraine to drop the border post.
The Kremlin has sent big troops to the Ukrainian border – US intelligence said it was more than 150,000 strong and ready to attack.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told NBC News that the Russian invasion to neighbors would be the “very cruel” operation followed by brutal work.
“It will fight in Russia in Ukrainians to suppress them, to destroy them, to hurt them,” the White House official said.
Western power has threatened a sanction package that paralyzed if Russia attacked.
Russia wanders the Krimea Ukrainian region in 2014 and a separatist supported by Moscow holding the bag in the east distracts Lugansk and Donetsk.
