Actress US Constance Wu made an effort to commit suicide three years ago, bruised by a bitter social media reaction, said the star “Crazy Rich Asia” was on Thursday.
Wu, 40, faced a heavy criticism in 2019 for the comments he made on Twitter about the “Fresh Off the Boat,” that he starred in.

After embarrassing online from users who mentioned the statement underestimated, and the message of another Asian -American actress who called Wu “Hawar in the Asian -American community,” Wu decided to take his own life.

“I began to feel like I was not even worthy of life anymore. That I am embarrassing for Asams, and they will be better without me,” Wu said in a statement posted on Thursday on Twitter.

“Luckily, a friend found me and took me to the ER,” wrote the actress without giving further details.

After surviving suicide, Wu postponed his career and left social media to focus on his mental health.

But he decided to return to the online platform and share his story to launch a broader discussion about mental health among Asians -Americans.

“Acid is not enough to talk about mental health,” wrote Wu.

“While we quickly celebrate the victory of the representation, there are many avoidance around the problem that is more uncomfortable in our community.”

Tweet WU 2019 follows the news that the ABC Hit sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat” which depicts the Taiwan-American family who tries to build a new life in Florida has been updated for the sixth season.

“So annoyed now that I really cry. Ugh,” Tweeted Wu, adding expletives.

Many users punished him for appearing unbrained for the success of the show.

Wu said in his post on Thursday that the tweet was “careless.” He also explained that at the time that he was upset because the event update would postpone other projects.

“Even though I am afraid, I have decided that I owe me from 3 years to be brave and share my story so that I can help someone with them,” wrote the actress.
