New Delhi: The newborn baby, covered by toilet paper soaked in blood, was found left in the washstone of the washroom and saved by officials in the inspection round, media reports said.
A 20-year-old woman from Madagascar, allegedly gave birth to the Air Mauritius aircraft, which landed at Ramgoolam International Airport Sir Seewoosagur on January 1, was arrested, reported the BBC.
The baby was said to be fine, said the news report.
Airport officers saw children when they filtered aircraft for routine customs examination, the reported city newsroom.
They noticed that there was blood stained toilet paper, and rushed the baby to a general hospital for treatment, he said.
Mother suspected, who initially denied the boy, was made to undergo a medical examination that confirmed that he had just given birth, the BBC said in his report.
The woman was put under the supervision of the police in the hospital, he said.
