Ways To Become Adorable to Your Students & Inspire Unwilling Kids to Learn

A strong teacher-student relationship depends upon the trust and likeness from both sides. This bond takes time to be built and to be nurtured. Both teacher and students take time to get to know each other and to trust each other, then if there is any possibility then they like each other otherwise they stay at the boundaries of their professionalism. These days teachers don’t have to worry much about the students and their studies because students gather much information and knowledge from online learning and from their education apps they are learning from. There is no certain time though under which one can win the hearts of the children because it all depends upon the efforts of the teacher. So, let’s understand what should a teacher do to become favorite of his/her students:

  • Calling a person by his name shows how much you respect his/her entity and it gives a sense of recognition to him/her. So, a teacher needs to memorize the names of his or her students and should try to call them by their name. This makes the student happy that the teacher remembers his or her name and he or she exists in the teacher’s view of the teacher. For this, the teacher can ask his or her students to tell their name before telling or asking anything in the beginning of any new semester. This way the teacher can remember the names of the students very soon. IT maintains the flow of communication also just like the  school management system maintains flow of communication among all the departments of the school.
  • Students usually have a perception that the teacher is different from them and is not a part of their goal. Break this misconception and make them realize that you are one of them. Participate in all the activities students are ordered to do whether it is a project, experiment, any team work, just be a part of it so that wherever the students are stuck they can look up to you for help as a mentor. Anyway, tools like the attendance management system are assisting management of school efficiently so tutors can focus on their students & tutoring completely.
  • Organize an interesting survey among them and make them write about themselves first then what they like, what they don’t like, what makes them happiest, what makes them sad a lot and at the last make them write about you. Make the students write their opinion about you, about your teaching or about how you treat them and ask them to not to write their names on survey paper so that they can write independently their views about you. This way you can get an assessment from students about your personality as teacher and teaching also.
  • If you really want to become a favorite of the students then take them for an outing for a day. Make them explore nature and the outside world free from the boundaries of class and let them enjoy the green grass, butterflies, colorful flowers and make them learn by sitting in the lap of nature. Also ask your students about their lives outside of the school, like what they do after going home, how they spend their happiest hours at home, who are their best friends etc. Try to make a connection and make students feel like you really care for them.

It is usual that at some point students get bored with studies and they lose their will to study so let’s see how such students can be inspired to learn:

  • It is very ridiculous but most of the students who are considered as good students and bad students in their academic lives tend to perform vice versa further in future. Back benchers can be seen performing good and achieving extraordinary in their lives and toppers live an ordinary life ahead.
  • To generate willingness in students to learn it is essential to understand the field of interest of the students. Asking directly won’t help much. The teacher needs to apply some good tricks like giving a task to the students to write an essay about their likes and dislikes etc.
  • Tutor needs to create such an effective lesson plan for the students so that they can take interest in learning and their unwillingness to study can transform into interest and passion for study. As a teacher one should arrange the class and lesson delivery in such an interesting way that students of any type can take interest in it.
  • Teachers also don’t usually care that a student likes any particular subject or not and if he or she doesn’t like any particular subject then it is the duty of the tutor to search for the solution to this situation so that students can enjoy learning. Teachers should observe which subject is liked by the student particularly and what is so much interesting in that subject which attracts the students.
  • Student life is to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes, so teachers should never condemn or insult the student for his/her mistakes. Instead, they should make students understand that trying is very essential instead of sitting dull and doing nothing.
